Gene Woodling homered as the Colorado 14ers topped the The Little Feat by a
score of 8 to 4 at Metropolitan Stadium.

Colorado wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 4
runners on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Jim Gentile who
deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he cleared the fences for a
two-run home run. Colorado rapped out 11 hits for the night.

Tom Sturdivant(4-5) allowed 4 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Sturdivant got relief help from Billy Hoeft who gained credit for
his 5th save. Lew Burdette(5-4) absorbed the loss.
