separated the combatants at game's end. The The Little Feat won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
Bill Lee(1-1) came on to close the door tight in relief. He didn't give up
much, just 1 hit and no walks in 3 innings. Savannah threatened in the 9th
but The Little was able to put down the rally.
Kent Tekulve got the save, his 7th. Phil Niekro(5-2) absorbed the loss. He
was unable to control the The Little offense and allowed 11 hits and 6 walks
in 6 innings.
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Blackbeard
Teach said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they
have to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
