Hibbing won the game with a rally in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs on 3 hits.
After an out was recorded, Johnny Groth got things going when he ripped a
base-hit. Cherokee Davis followed next and he drew a walk. One out later,
Gus Zernial then clubbed a three-run home run. Denver could do no damage in
the bottom of the 9th.
The victory was credited to Raul Galata(2-2) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Bob Rush recorded his 8th save. Dizzy Trout(0-3) was the loser in
relief. Hibbing scored big getting 3 runs off him in 2 innings.
