The Bristol Blasters nipped the Sterling Silver Sluggers 4 to 3 at Blaster
Field in a hard fought contest.
Bristol had 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with the
help of 5 hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Sterling threatened
in the 9th but their rally came up short.
The victory was credited to Johnny Vander Meer(3-0) who went 1/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Joe Page recorded his 9th save. Billy Powell(6-6) was the
losing pitcher. He gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
