TEAM RISP- Jackals: 1 for 7 Loons: 0 for 1
Dusty Baker connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI and Ross Grimsley went 9
solid innings as the New Jersey Jackals beat the Minnesota Loons by a score
of 5 to 1.
Grimsley(4-5) escaped virtually unscathed against the Minnesota hitters. He
gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.71 to
3.25. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 3rd inning with no runs
scored after that point.
Rudy May(4-4) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up
12 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings. Grimsley was obviously very pleased with
his performance in the aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those games
where everything worked. My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched
another two or three innings. I only hope that I can do it again next time
out!'
