Jim Bunning allowed 3 hits while blanking Minnesota at Memorial Stadium where
the Bristol Blasters beat the Minnesota Loons by the score of 7 to 0.
Willie Mays had a good evening at the plate. He stroked a base-hit in the 4th
inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 5th inning and ripped a single
resulting in a run in the 7th inning. Bristol rapped out 15 hits for the
night.
For Bunning(5-3) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Jack Fisher(1-6) absorbed
the loss. Bunning was obviously very pleased with his performance in the
aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those games where everything
worked. My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched another two or three
innings. I only hope that I can do it again next time out!'
