Left fielder Juan Gonzalez ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Coors Field as
the Michigan Timber won in their last at-bat beating the Pinch Quicks by the
count of 10 to 9.
Michigan won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an
out was recorded, Gonzalez ripped a solo home run resulting in a mighty
exciting win for Michigan and the 49,262 home town fans in attendance. Pinch
was not lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet
victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to
win ballgames.
The win was credited to Mike Jackson(3-0) who went 1/3 of an inning allowing
no runs. Hector Carrasco(0-1) was the loser in relief. He gave up 1 run and
1 hit without retiring a batter.
'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate tonight' Gonzalez said
after the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
