23,589 fans watched an exciting game at Bright Health Field. The Bristol
Blasters topped the Colorado 14ers by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Bristol ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. After two were out Gil Hodges laced a
base-hit. Johnny Wyrostek stepped into the batter's box and he delivered a
single. Joe Dimaggio then was walked intentionally to load the bases. Dave
Koslo then threw a pitch that got away from the catcher scoring the run.
Bristol took care of Colorado with no trouble in the bottom of the 10th.
The winning pitcher was Joe Page(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings.
Koslo(2-5) ended up with the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 innings of work.
