Larry Doby had 2 base hits as the Cincinnati Royalty topped the Denver Dingers
by a score of 3 to 1 at Mile High Stadium.
Cincinnati delivered all the runs required in the 1st inning when they came up
with 3 runs on 4 hits. That early scoring held up. Both teams' bats went to
sleep after the 1st inning with no runs scored after that point.
Vic Raschi(2-2) went 8 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Raschi got relief
help from Satchel Paige who gained credit for his 1st save. Murry
Dickson(3-3) suffered the loss. By giving up 3 runs in 6 innings his ERA
increased from 2.17 to 2.49.
