TEAM RISP- Silver Sluggers: 6 for 10 Royalty: 3 for 6
Doyle Alexander was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Sterling Silver Sluggers bested the Cincinatti Royalty
13 to 7 at The Launch Palace.
Reggie Jackson had a big day against Cincinatti. He doubled in the 4th
inning, doubled in the 5th inning and launched a rocket-shot out of the park
for a Grand Slam homerun in the 8th inning. Sterling rapped out 18 hits for
the night.
The victory was credited to Alexander(3-3) who went the distance, allowing 7
runs. The loss was charged to John Montefusco(1-3). He was knocked around
pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 4 innings.
The win by Sterling is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in
recent days. Their record now stands at 15-15 - only 2-8 in their last ten
games. John O'Neil was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We
can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a
while.'
