Ron Leflore had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at St Louis Park as the Denver Dingers
beat the St Louis Park Orioles 6 to 5.
Denver scored the winning runs in the 8th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 2
base hits. Larry Bowa led off and keyed the rally when he stroked a one-base
hit. Sixto Lezcano next to the plate and he drew a walk. After another out,
Doug Rader was the next batter, but he struck out. Joe Ferguson followed
next and he drew a walk to load the bases. Cesar Cedeno stepped into the box
and lashed a single bringing in two baserunners. A wild and woolly affair,
this game saw the lead change 5 times.
Rick Camp(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Pete
Vuckovich earned his 5th save. The loss was charged to Will McEnaney(1-2) in
relief.
When questioned, Wayne Stanko remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt
this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
