The Queen Qiller Bees nipped the Sugarland Skeeters 4 to 3 at County Stadium
in a hard fought contest.
Queen brought 3 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning. After
an out was recorded, Earl Battey began the Queen spurt when he lined a
one-base hit. Ed Bouchee followed next and he drew a walk. Don Hoak then
tripled bringing in two baserunners. Richie Ashburn was up next and he would
hit into a fielders choice scoring the final run of the inning. Queen and
Sugarland each finished the afternoon with 7 hits.
The victory was credited to Dick Hall(2-0) who went 3 innings, allowing 1 run.
Turk Lown gained credit for his 1st save. Milt Pappas(0-1) was the losing
pitcher.
No one has been able to stop Queen lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 6 games.
