42,291 fans watched an exciting game at The Couch. The Pittsburgh Bichipoos
topped the Denver Dingers by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.

Denver was unable to climb back into it after Pittsburgh went ahead for good
in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. Eddie Collins led
off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk. Nat Rogers stepped up next and
he laid down a sacrifice bunt. After another out, Jud Wilson then doubled
knocking in a run. Steel Arm Davis followed and he drew a walk. Wattie Holm
came to the plate and smacked a single scoring the final run of the inning.
Denver made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.

The win was credited to Robert McClure(3-0) who went 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 2 runs. Bill Doak was credited with his 2nd save. The loss was
charged to Wizard Rosell(0-1). He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 6 innings.

Despite losing Wayne Stanko was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
