TEAM RISP- Feat: 6 for 16 Dingers: 3 for 9
Kevin Stocker had 3 base hits as the The Little Feat outscored the Denver
Dingers 7 to 5.
The Little took the lead for good in the top of the 3rd inning with 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. Andres Galarraga led off and got things going when he
slapped a base-hit. One out later, Russ Davis was a strikeout victim, unable
to help out. Mike Lieberthal then drew a walk. Doug Glanville stepped in
and he ripped a single scoring a one-base hit run. Stocker came up to bat
and lashed a single scoring the final run of the inning. Denver made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Alex Fernandez(2-1) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Jason
Schmidt(0-1) ended up with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 10 hits and 3
walks in 6 innings.
'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Wayne Stanko 'But we
have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
