Bud Souchock knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Bill Byrd hurled a 3 hitter
as the Pinch Quicks really laid it on the Hibbing Dylans 12 to 2.
The Pinch fans enjoyed the offense provided by Souchock. He bombed a two-run
dinger in the 1st inning and lofted a three-run bomb in the 3rd inning.
Neither team managed to score after the 4th inning.
Byrd(2-0) allowed 2 runs on the game. Ken Raffensberger(0-1) was given the
loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 2 and 2/3 innings. 'All of my pitches
were working today,' Byrd said. 'I felt really good out there, and heck, I
think I could have gone longer.'
