Ed Rakow had a strong outing at Wrigley Field where the Cincinatti Royalty
beat the Sterling Silver Sluggers in 10 innings 2 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine. Finally, Cincinatti pulled the game out
in the 10th inning. Ron Fairly drew a walk. Elston Howard was a strikeout
victim, unable to help out. Clete Boyer got his turn next, but he was a
strikeout victim. Eddie Kasko came up and he banged out a single. Bill
Tuttle stepped into the box and laced a one-base hit giving Cincinatti the
win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Cincinatti had 9 hits
overall, while Sterling had 2.

Al Jackson(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2/3 of an inning and
allowing no runs. Terry Fox(0-2) was the loser in relief.

John O'Neil was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games
-- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a
little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'
