Sandy Koufax dominated striking out 12 Cincinatti batters as the Hibbing
Dylans beat the Cincinatti Royalty by a score of 4 to 1.
Koufax(1-0) had a solid outing for Hibbing. He went 8 innings and surrended
up 8 hits and 3 walks. After the 3rd inning, neither team was able to score.
Koufax got relief help from Hoyt Wilhelm who gained credit for his 1st save.
Jim Donohue(0-1) absorbed the loss. When asked about his strikeout total for
the game, Koufax offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see
them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I
kept them busy this afternoon - of course, it would be all for naught without
the 'W'.'
