The Pittsburgh Bichipoos edged the Savannah Rumrunners at Dodger Stadium by
the score of 4 to 3.
Pittsburgh promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring 2 runs.
After an out was recorded, Rusty Greer started the attack as he drew a walk.
Jon Nunnally stepped up next and he popped a two-run clout over the fence.
Savannah made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.
The win was credited to Darren Oliver(1-0) who went 5 innings allowing 2 runs.
Gabe White got the save, his 1st. Pedro Astacio(0-1) was the losing pitcher.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Danny Murtaugh said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
