Warren Spahn threw a complete game shutout at Municipal Stadium where the
Sugarland Skeeters beat the Colorado 14ers by the score of 2 to
0.
Spahn(2-2) pitched a solid game. He allowed 8 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings
improving his ERA from 3.74 to 2.64. The pitchers took over after the 4th
inning as neither team was able to score again.
Ray Herbert(0-1) was charged with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 10
hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. 'It's been a rough ride lately, but
this was a good win for us' said Sugarland's manager, 'Maybe this will put us
back on track.'
